It’s complicated technology. You’re going to spend some time lost in the wilderness this summer.
— Justin Adams, CEO AlertWatch
As my first day with AlertWatch comes to a close, my partner Hannah Nowaske and I have already found ourselves lost in the wilderness of medical jargon and new technology. Our two objectives for this summer internship are to create a new website for the company and to generate leads for Justin to follow up on at his leisure. We spent today looking over the websites of some of AlertWatch’s competitors, as well as some other medical sites, and began to brainstorm ideas for how to better highlight the solutions that AlertWatch brings to the table.
We have run into some trouble with creating a new website, as there is a lot of uncertainty among the team as to what needs to be on the website and where it should be. Hopefully in the coming week we can sit down with Justin and develop an outline to guide the creative process.
If timing permits, we have also discussed the possibility of an advertising campaign in order to build more awareness to the company among medical professionals, specifically anesthesiologist. The idea Justin had was to use popular movie quotes, and use a deletion strategy to demonstrate that when even just one word is removed, we don’t get the whole story. This would highlight the highly integrated platform that AlertWatch uses, collecting and displaying 200 pieces of data, telling the patients’ entire story.
I hope that we have time to dive into this ad campaign a little deeper in our eight weeks, as advertising is my primary area of interest. I look forward to working with Hannah in building this website and learning more about what other interns are doing with thei companies at the Wednesday meetings
